John Tully is a photographer whose work explores the elusive nature of place, belonging, and the spaces we call home. Growing up as a military brat, his family moved frequently across the United States, leaving him with an enduring and unresolved fascination with what home truly means. Rather than arriving at answers, his work exists comfortably in aporia, tracing something felt more than defined.
His ongoing book project, NEVERLAND, offers an intimate look at this aporia in the ever changing land and the people who shape it across the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the surrounding rural communities. It is part love letter, part quiet reckoning with memory and change, and part something harder to name. A sense of belonging that does not announce itself so much as quietly persists.
